Flowertown Festival

Summerville’s Flowertown Festival, an annual celebration of the town’s floral heritage, draws visitors with its blossoms and camaraderie. Dubbed “Flowertown” for its scenic landscapes, especially azaleas dating back to the late 19th century, Summerville has become a hub for floral enthusiasts. The festival, born in 1972 as a fundraiser for the local YMCA, has burgeoned into a large arts and crafts event, attracting tens of thousands annually.
Beyond showcasing crafts, food, and entertainment, the festival fosters community engagement and supports local programs. It has evolved with the times, embracing sustainability initiatives to promote eco-friendly practices, juried craftsmen, and any food you might be craving. Looking forward, the festival remains a symbol of Summerville’s beauty and communal spirit.

Despite its growth, the festival retains its charm and significance, uniting communities and uplifting spirits. It stands as a testament to Summerville’s enduring allure and the power of flowers to bring people together. As the Flowertown Festival continues to blossom, it reaffirms its place as a beloved Southern tradition and one of the largest festivals in the Lowcountry.

This year’s Flowertown Festival is April 5th – 7th and is sure to continue enchanting young and old alike. Flowertown Bed and Breakfast is conveniently located at the south end of the festival, so guests can park once in guest parking and walk through the festival as often as they choose (no fighting for a parking spot). We book up early, so start planning for Flowertown Festival April 2025.
